About Harold
Harold grew up on a livestock farm in Southwestern Ontario. He received his BSc degree in agricultural engineering from the University of Guelph in 1978. He later returned to the University of Guelph and received a Master of Science in engineering in 1990. It was while at university that Harold met his wife Louise and really grew in the Lord through the ministry of Inter Varsity Christian Fellowship. Harold and Louise were married in 1980 and shortly after became youth leaders for six years which was a time where his faith was really stretched, tested and moulded. Harold has worked as an agricultural engineer both with industry and the government, and now semi-retired he still does consulting work mostly with the dairy industry.
Harold & Louise also started The Learning House, an educational supply company that ministered to homeschool families for 27 years. Harold has served on the Elder’s Board for many years at Calvary Baptist Church and has also been a small group leader, worked with children’s ministry and been part of the audio/video team. Harold and Louise have four grown children and 12 grandchildren. He enjoys camping, hiking, mountain biking, kayaking and looks forward to woodworking when time permits. Harold is looking forward to seeing what the Lord will do at Calvary in the future.
