COVID-19 and Calvary Baptist Church
Updates, guidlines and other information
In person services to resume Feb 21, 2021.
In person Sunday services will be temporarily suspended during province wide lockdowns.
Please take time to review the reopening guidelines (Updated July 19, 2020). Please contact the church office if you have any questions about attending one of our services.
Anyone attending a service or other event at CBC will be required to provide their name and phone number for contract tracing.
April 18, 2021
In accordance with the current lockdown restrictions building capacity and service capacity is now limited to 10 people.
April 2, 2021 - Open at 15% capacity
We remain open for in person services at 15% room capacity per the Provincial guidelines (minimum 4 Sundays). Under the current guidelines we can accommodate approximately 75 people between our sanctuary and gym. Preregistration is required (see link on home page) so we know how to plan our space from week to week.
Please note that we have limited seating for only 25 people in our upstairs Sanctuary. These seats are being prioritized for our seniors attendees and anyone who has difficulty with stairs. All other attendees will be seated in the downstairs gym or one of the overflow rooms.
July 17 - Masks are now Mandatory
In accordance with local health authorities non-medical masks are mandatory for anyone inside our facilities as of July 17. Please read the above guidelines and the information at this link for details. https://www.hpph.ca/en/health-matters/resources/Documents/Coronavirus/HPPH-Instructions-for-Employers-re-face-coverings.pdf
June 13 - Resuming in person Sunday services
Good morning, CBC family.
I trust you’re off to a restful start to the weekend.
Earlier this week we received word from our provincial government that we can begin gathering again as a local church for weekly worship! We are grateful for the opportunity to meet again but are also aware that there are several guidelines which must be followed in order to worship safely and mitigate the risk for possible infections.
This past Thursday evening, our Elders met to discuss the logistics of our church family worshipping together on Sunday mornings. I am planning to send to each of you a complete guideline for what this will look like early next week. But for now it’s worth mentioning that we will NOT be meeting tomorrow morning, June 14. Our aim is to gather next Sunday, June 21 at 10am (as a pilot project).
We will continue broadcasting our services on Facebook Live for the foreseeable future.
The Lord has answered our prayers and we rejoice in His kindness. I am praying that the days and weeks ahead will be a season where we extend grace to one another so that in all things God may be glorified through Jesus Christ.
Blessings in Christ,
Pastor Sam
